Ft. Walton Beach is a charming town on the Gulf Coast of Florida, just a short drive east from Pensacola. Gulfarium Marine Adventure Park

The Gulfarium Marine Adventure Park gives you a chance to swim with dolphins and check out many of the other beautiful marine creatures native to this area. In addition to adorable dolphins, you will also find sharks, stingrays, penguins, seals, and alligators. They host special events throughout the week for both kids and adults.

Emerald Coast Science Center

This is an absolute must if you are visiting Ft. Walton Beach with kids. This large science discovery center has a wide selection of exploratory science exhibits for kids of all ages. The building is full of hands-on labs and games that encourage children to be creative while exposing them to modern engineering concepts like robotics.

Oskaloosa Island Beach and Fishing Pier

Oskaloosa Island is the perfect place to relax and enjoy some sunshine on your Florida trip. It is known for its pristine white sand and friendly atmosphere, and unlike the beaches at many larger Florida towns, it doesn't get too crowded here. If you like to fish, you can set up shop on the pier for the day, and if you get hungry, you can walk into Wayside Park, which features several local restaurants, shops, and other fun activities.

Heritage Park and Cultural Center

The Heritage Park and Cultural Center is home to several historical museums that give you a taste of what life was like during eras past. The Indian Temple Mound Museum is built around an old archaeological site and showcases artifacts from southeast Native American tribes. The Camp Walton Schoolhouse Museum and the Garnier Post Office Museum give you a taste of civics and life during the early 19th century, and the Civil War Exhibit Building features artifacts and stories from the Civil War in the south.
